Fueling A Sustainable Future

We believe that creating a better world for generations to come starts today.

Our Collective Responsibility

At Berklee Hospitality, we’re committed to making a positive impact on campus and the community by focusing on responsible sourcing, reducing food waste, and offering nutritious meals made with responsible practices. From supporting local partners to making thoughtful choices in our dining operations, we’re working every day to build a more sustainable future. And we want you to be a part of the effort, too!

Working Toward Zero Waste

We proudly support the sustainability goals of Berklee. Here are a few active initiatives.

  • Collaborative Composting

We work to collect organic materials—including food waste and compostable service items such as napkins and wooden stir sticks—to be composted into renewable energy!

  • Proactive Prevention

We use tracking and forecasting tools to proactively identify food waste trends in order to alter our preparation accordingly.

Your Choices Can Make a Daily Impact

Our goal is to make it easy to offer you nutritious, environmentally, and socially conscious options wherever possible.

More Ways to Go Green with Berklee Hospitality

  • Reusable To-Go at 160 Caf

For just $5, you can own a reusable to-go container and help us reduce waste on campus. At the 160 Caf, you can use a Meal Swipe to fill your container and take your food on the go! Each time you want to use your container, we give you a clean one to comply with food safety standards. If you do not wish to use your container that day, we will give you a rain-check ticket so that you can get a clean container at a later time.

  • Food Recovery

Download the Too Good to Go App to reserve a surprise meal for lunch or dinner! We recover about 180 surprise meals per month which helps reduce food waste, avoid carbon CO2e emissions, land use, and water use.
